1.8tdci Mpg Computer Reading And Calculated Figures

hi,

my 56 reg galaxy is giving erroneous readings from the comuter.

sat at 85MPG (in germany) for 2 full tanks I got the following

computer 52.6 actual 38.9

computer 53.5 actual 39.9

worked out from full tank to full tank.

 

anyone else know what they are getting ?

Hi - I had a 1.8TDCi and was getting similar readings. Took it to the dealer who told me they reset the PCM, but it made no difference. I read somewhere that there is a resistor (card ?) that needs to be replaced. I have changed to a 2.0TDCi and the readings are more accurate now.
