Jed Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 I guess you have all been driving around in your Galaxys for a few months now and are hopefully getting on well with them. Are there any Options that you wish you had ordered in hindsight. I will be changing my MKIII for another after a year and would like to know how owners are getting on with different options. Is the Ford Convers + worth the extra? Has anybody had self levelling rear suspension fitted? Is the Quote
Nick Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 I'm really happy with my car and the add-on's. Convers+ is marginal IMO, but then I don't know what the 'standard' dash looks like. It would appear that the new price list has a lot of previous 'options' as standard. That said, I'd not change a thing. Even the new 2.2 170 horse doesn't do it for me, if I'd wanted a sports car it wouldn't have 7 seats! Quote
AndyBee Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 You certainly ticked a few boxes on the order form, Nick. There can't be many options you don't have. I am pretty happy with the options I ordered - I went for X Pack (wipe clean leather, panorama roof - spoilt a bit by the overhead lockers, but brightens up the interior, 17in wheels that look MUCH better than the std Ghia 16 in version, rear aircon - useful for us as we use all 7 seats most of the time, and sunblinds - handy, but not essential); adv. bluetooth (std on all models now I think, and well worth having); ESP (std also on new models, I believe, but one of those safety features that I would never want to regret not ordering - I does make a difference); and metallic paint (just a means of prising another Quote
Jed Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 I'm with you there Andy, I ordered the Ghia X pack which i feel was a good buy. The leather looks great and is easy to upkeep, and the 17" alloys look good. I see that the new model will have 17" as standard and the Ghia x plus give 18" alloys. I wish that I had ordered power folding mirrors now. I havent knocked one off yet but they are big old bits of kit and it would be nice to just fold them in at the push of a switch. I would like self levelling rear suspension as we carry around an electric wheel chair which weighs in at around 70kg. Not sure how it works. Anybody out there have it fitted? Quote
Whizkid Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I've got a 2.0 TDCi Ghia with 17" alloys, TPMS, Convers+, roof bars & tonneau cover. I previously had a 1.8TDCi, with panoramic roof, power flip rear quarters & climate seats. Both purchased from dealer stock. If I were ordering from the factory, I'd have the 17" alloys (now std), panoramic roof, climate seats (or at the very least heated seats for those cold mornings 'cause the heating takes so long to get going !), bluetooth, and Convers+ (because its different). The 2.0TDCi is fine for me - its not a sports car and it would be wasted on me. I'm told the adaptive cruise is good, but haven't had the oppotunity to try it out. Quote
