searcher Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 The mind boglesIm sure someone will shoot me down in flames when i say this but i thought it was reduced from 60k to 40k on later models as there was concern it was tooooo long.Im probably wrong as i normally am  Quote
Smilge Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 I think it changed sometime in 2003 Ade ....... don't know whether it was up or down but mine was due for a change because the 4 years were up although it still hadn't quite done 40K. Perhaps someone else can confirm it. Quote
NikpV Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 I thought they introduced and uprated tensioner/belt combination so that even if you have a car earlier than 2003 the newer specced kit will change the interval Quote
davewill Posted March 6, 2008 Author Report Posted March 6, 2008 Update - On the bill 40,000 miles service Quote

big_kev Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 I thought they introduced and uprated tensioner/belt combination so that even if you have a car earlier than 2003 the newer specced kit will change the interval I thought the reason they dropped it from 60k to 40k was that a few cam belts popped ! Then after they started servicing at 40k even more cam belts popped ( due to being fitted wrong ). So they stuck it back up to 60k where it belongs. Could be wrong on this though  Quote
jkspoff Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 The mk2 Galaxy diesel cambelt change is definately 60,000 miles for the later models as stated in the Ford recent workshop manual. Quote
