rbar Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 I know it seems a silly question (I've only just brought the car ) and did not get a handbook with it, but does the CLOCK light up at all. I have a Galaxy Ghia, S,reg, 1998, thanks Quote
mk2vr6 Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 (edited) yes, it should and if you set fire to it it burns as well, you'll need to know that fact as at some point during your ownership of the vehicle you will feel like torching it  Edited March 3, 2008 by mk2vr6 Quote
mumof4 Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Now Now, give him chance to really get to know his new baby before it starts throwing tantrums and emptying his wallet, bank account and then asking for the house to be remortgaged to pay for its needs :D thats when the lighter and fuel can come in handy on the top of a hill, when hes feeling like he just cant take the money eating machine anymore. :) I jest, the galaxy is a good wee car and needs TLC to enable it to work like a trojan and love you forever  Quote
skippy 2 Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 I know it seems a silly question (I've only just brought the car ) and did not get a handbook with it, but does the CLOCK light up at all. I have a Galaxy Ghia, S,reg, 1998, thanksThe light in the clock comes on with the engine on but you will only notice when it is dark. If it doesn't you will need to replace the bulb in the clock. Search the forum on how to do this as I did mine. Quote
rbar Posted March 4, 2008 Author Report Posted March 4, 2008 I would like to thank MK2VR6 for his most helpfull answer to my simple question. I've just brought this Galaxy 2 weeks ago but now wished I had'nt, trouble with the swimming pool in the front nearside well, been and brought some sand and a bucket and spade so we don't have to go on holiday now. Only one key which is going to cost an arm and a leg. And regarding the clock I'm not the sort of person whos goes straight in with out some knowledge first, that way it may cost more so I asked the simple question about the clock. Anyway I'm going out now to fetch the petrol and a box of matches and do as you say. Once again you were so helpfull mk2vr6. Many thanks to all the members who gave me advice on the problem of the clock. Quote
mk2vr6 Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 so glad I could help  stand back when you flick the match! the flash over from the vapour can give you a nasty burn! Quote
gaznlou Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 RbarThe swimming pool in the N/S does your rear washer work? if not I think you will find the rear washer pipe has separated, try a search loads of info on here. Mine had come apart just under the glove box on the left hand side of the lower A pillar.Gaz Quote
rbar Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 Hi Gaz Checked the washer pipe all ok, had windowscreen out and re sealed all ok, checked the other options I was given (at a garage) to my cost, all ok, but still IT LEAKS!!!, in the well from somewhere. I'm a bit cheesed of now with this Galaxy, why I changed from my Espace I'll never know. So what now? Quote
mumof4 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 teresa had a prob like this, isnt there a hole somwhere under the glovebox that should be plugged up? can you tell exactly where the water is running from? Quote

shahed Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 i guess we all notice this the clock no back light, then rear wiper washer not working wet or really wet front passengerbay.... lol... clock easily prises off, simple connecters but i wouldn't pull too hard trying to pull the clock off (cables might snap) take out old bulb, check your local FRAUD dealers probably charge you Quote
mossy65 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Just changed mine. grab the clock and lift up and back, the bit of trim then pulls forward. disconnect the wiring and turn the clock round. the bulb is in a plastic holder. twist out and replace. Quote
