hi i just bought a galaxy v6 1996 model and i cant get the heaters 2 go hot in the front of the car but it comes out hot in the rear has anyone got any ideas thanks.

this was a known fault on early mk1's IIRC they fitted a shut off valve to the rear heater unit to give the front unit priority to the heat, or your matrix's blocked? you have an air lock? or your control cables are u/s does the front kick out heat if your moving?

no theres no heat at front just cold and the engine temp is all fine and all pipes are getting hot just cant get it hot in front only rear

how long have you had the vehicle? has the front always blown cold?

only had it a week and i didnt try it until i got home and it was cold after a 52mile drive water level was fine though so dont think its air and it also had a second hand engine fitted before xmas if that makes any differance.

aahh check the pipes to the heaters are connected correctly?

ill check them in the morning but if they were the wrong way would the heaters in the rear still be hot?

it would matter if they are not connected to the front or routed wrong so that the front is bypassed?

ok ill have a look tomorrow but i think they were the right way cos i went round all the pipes making sure they were getting hot and they looked ok not twisted or anything thanks.
