rbar Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Is their any where I can get a new key from for my Galaxy cheaper than the main dealer, thanks Quote
mk2vr6 Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 try here.... they did ok for me, came out to my home address, cut and programmed two keys on the drive way Quote
kmac Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 See here - sounds like a good deal:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Galaxy-RF-Remot...1QQcmdZViewItem The key really has three components: 1) The blade which needs to be cut to fit the barrel in the locks 2) The chip that will disarm the immobiliser ( new one needs to be programmed to the immobiliser of your car) 3) Remote for central locking ( if your car supports remote central locking - needs to be programmed to your car If you are after all three - see the link above If you just need the blade bit to open the door - Timpsons locksmiths can cut this for you for less that Quote
NikpV Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 as a comparison - if you have twokeys already - ford main dealer charged us Quote

NikpV Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 yes only having a single key means that the main dealer is needed to program the key (for the PATS) (using their equivalent of vag-com - wds2000, vag-com can do it but you need a special code from the dealer) apparently the same can be done by some auto locksmiths although the only quote I've seen here is Quote
searcher Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 I had a feeling you were gonna say that. The new key is just sitting in the kitchen drawer which is great until i loose the working one.Looks like ill have to bite the bullet and pop off to the dealer then. Donations this way please  Quote
NikpV Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 get a standard key while you are there - if you lose 1 then you can program the replacement yourself cos you will still have 2 keys Quote
