Center Heater/air Vent Removal?

Anyone know how to remove the heater/air vents above the radio console on Mk2 tdi? I was foolish enough to attach one of those cellphone holders into one of the vents and displaced a couple of fins. KF.

I too would like to know how to remove the vents - My phone bracket broke the trim edging - The Fraud delaer says it is a complete item and costs

Its simply a case of gently forcing the surrounding housing out. There are about 6-8 little plastic loops which clip into metal clips. Each time you pull it out, expect a couple to break off but it doesn't matter too much. I have just got back from the garage where mine is remove again. I have one loop left, but they have put lumps of epoxy resin behind the loops which holds it into the clips in the same way. Garages used what look like nylon tyre levers to remove the vents, as they do not scratch or damage the facia.
