I've got four Sumo Firenzas in the shed ready to put on the Galaxy, when I get round to it...

I read a few favourable reports in other forums on the net, and they do look a nicely made tyre.

It's an old thread, but I thought I'd let you know how I've got on with these tyres in case anyone is considering them.

Well, there's nothing wrong with the driving aspect, they're grippy, very good in the wet, and seem to be wearing well. They seem a well made casing, and balanced easily. However, they are noisy... in fact they are very noisy... even worse than the Dunlops. Go over 40MPH and you start to hear a constant thrum from the tyres.

I will endure them for now, but I can't really recommend these unless you're deaf.

cant really agree with the noise issue I reckon they are about the same as the dunlop 2020's - wear rate slightly better though

What ? eh , what did you say ?

If i am being honest most of my driving now is below 60 now so may be a cheap alternative for me , school run , dog run etc . Does anyone have an idea on price for a set of 4 and maybe a supplier in the south wales area if poss ?

thanks

mike.....

p.s am actually running 2020's now and never really niticed any noise so maybe i am already deaf ??

It might be my fading memory of the Dunlops, but I felt sure these were louder. The tread holds onto a lot of gravel too, which doesn't help.

It's a shame though, they seem excellent tyres otherwise, and seem to be wearing well. IIRC I paid about

To avoid the noise let AC/DC take you for a ride.

But preferably the pre 98 stuff

Yep same for me anything with Bon Scott fronting them.

god sometimes times I feel old

Was lucky enough to see Bon scott's last ever show at Southampton gaumont (now the mayflower)

Great show, one I will never forget.

Went back to see ACDC with BJ on the back in black tour and just not the same.

Still love the pre 1980 stuff....if I ever get my bl**dy car fixed!!
