Car Dead

car wont start all electrics seem to be working just wont turnover solenoid not engageing,took starter off today cleaned it up but still made no difference,can immobiliser cause this if so how do i recitfy problem.

 

ps as anybody got vag that could ge me a dig out i live in kirkby in ashfield notts,willing to pay or collect from home address beers etc...

sure its not the battery?

tried jumping with no affect tried using a booster pack with no affect. but it will start if u tow it

did you check thick wire from solenoid to brush pack on starter when you had it off? Bad for corroding and can appear ok but have no continuity.

This will cause sympyoms you describe because solenoid earths through brushes.

sorry for the late reply mate and yes it is the the wire from the solenoid to the starter having it reconned tommorow,thanks for the reply mate,and nice to hear from u.

this site had been a life saver for me over the years and saved me a lot of green in the process :P :lol: :)
