junglejim Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Hi. You can clear them wih 409 software but I'm not so sure about the battery. I've had mine off several times over the last couple of weeks and I don't think they cleared - not 100% though because I've been trying to get it working! Quote
butch Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 Hi Junglejimdo you know how to clear them with the vag-com? i cant find any plcae to clear them on the screen? Quote
junglejim Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 once you have set Vagcom up, click the button that says select control module. On the 2nd screen (it should be the common tab at the top) select 01 engine. The next screen then takes you in to the control module. You need the ignition on for it to work and it will show the details of the module. On the bottom left half of the screen there is a button that says fault codes. When you click in there it gives the option to clear or save the faults. Follow this link - there is an interactive demo on the Ross Tech site - its quite good and tells you what to touch and what not to. I haven't been brave enough to touch some of the functions - yet  http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/tour/main_screen.html Quote
rob e Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 i am using 409.1 in usb called com port 4 and for the best results have the engine running to gain access to all available control modules there are some you cannot access,i have reset maff fault sensor code and open curcuit on the booster heater 2000 zetec tdi 115 Quote
Dodger Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Is it actually necessary to clear fault codes to restore normal running of the engine? I have a "00575 Intake Manifold Pressure 17-10 Control Difference - Intermittent" which I read but didn't clear. If I reconnect VAG-COM and clear the fault code could it make a difference? Quote
ondra Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 If I am right, taking off the battery should clear it, but it takes about 48hours. Quote
Dodger Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Answered my own question. Fixed the fault on my TDI 110. It was the N75/boost control solenoid valve. It was not necessary to clear the code through vag-com to restore normal running. Just had to fix the fault. Quote
