Hi All

Missus came home in our 2.3 dohc juddering and as lumpy as you like been told its an ignition coil problem is there any way of checking without just replacing are they expensive? or shall I just stop the Missus driving it.

Don ...yes there is. On the coil itself you'll find a small connector with three wires going into it. If you remove the connector you can measure the resistance between the two outside pins on the coil which measures the primary coil. The secondary coil resistance is measured by disconnecting the HT lead and measuring between this pin and the middle pin of the small connector. Don't ask me what the reading should be but if you have a good coil then you can compare the readings. I would also give the coil a tap while you're measuring to see if there is an intermittent open circuit. Hope this helps.
