BrianAll Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Hi, read the ample threads about tyres, noted down the names good/bad etc, then get to tyre bay and he gives me a good quote ( Quote
sparky Paul Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 No personal experience, but Yokohama are a pretty reputable tyre manufacturer, so they should be okay. The 'Falcons' you were quoted for were probably Falken, who are part of Dunlop. They aren't a top tyre, but Quote
BrianAll Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 Great, thanks Sparky. I think I fancy the Avon's overall. Earlier in the week I was pannicking as I thought I should get some before MOT. In the end I gambled and the car passed MOT but got an advisory note saying 'rear tyre close to legal limit' so will get them done over next few days. Cheers, Brian Quote

Rusty Nail Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Hi Brian Are the Avons ZV3's? If so, they are the ones I have on the front at the mo. Nice looking tyre, handle well, good in the wet, BUT, and it is a sizable but IMHO, mine are nigh on gone after 12K of pootling round on the school run, shopping and very occasional motorway use. Also do check on fitting charges for tyres as I have done some checks, and nearly fell off my seat with laughter when 'Bathwick Tyres' quoted me Quote
