Hi Guys, hoiping someone may be able to shed some light on this subject for me. I have the Visteon VHS system fitted my gal (why they put a vhs rather than dvd system in is beyond me but...anyway :( ), yet the power to it refuses to stay on. There were no instructions with the system so have tried many different ways to get it to work, but with no avail. I've tried turning the power on with the remote - the screens flicker for 1 sec then go off again, I've tried holding the power button on the Video unit - Nothing, I tried doing both together and screens will continue to flicker until I let go of the power button and the the power will go off again  . It's so frustrating. But if it's going to be pricey then I'd rather upgrade to a better system, I'd love to get a PS2 fitted in to where the video player sits in the rear storage compartment, then I can play dvd's and games. Is there anyone who can give me some advice on getting the current system going and/or possibly getting a playstation fitted.

Cheers

Rusty ..... i reckon you've lost the Vert Sync form the Video player and without it it can damage the screens and it sounds like they are switching themselves off for that reason. Have you had a look at the connections from the back of the video? It might be worth looking at a DVD player to replace the video, obviously with similar outputs so you can connect it straight in.

Cheers guys, I've ssen the converters in maplins and they're an inexpensive add on so will certainly invest in one. I'll keep ya posted Chris.

Thanks for the info on the Vert Sync and video wires, I'll check it out and see what I can find. Cheers for the quick response guys, time to have a play

If you remove the small carpet under the drivers seat you will find 3 more connections that may need checking out,

also check the feed from the radio

I have the vhs system fitted but also use a dvd player fitted under front passenger seat which plugs into AUX sockets in centre console

(one screen can watch video and one dvd or if you plug into aux socket on the video your limited to both screens on one or the other)

the system is switched on by the remote off of the head unit

also the system has a control box in the central console with has a common fault of shitting its load and dying and costing around 300-350

hope this helps even if the price does not sorry

If the video isn't working its probably low on steam pressure, try throwing a couple of extra shovels of coal in the boiler!

Sorry, couldn't help myself.
