So looked at aerial connector to rear passenger window. Opened it and found the connector had become detached, reattached it and it appears to have solved the crackling !!!!Looks like it wasnt making proper contact, just barely touching when window was closed. Does the FM waveband use a different aerial, as this was never affected?Any views on this?Cheers Quote

Does the FM waveband use a different aerial, as this was never affected?Any views on this?CheersHi sadgunner No it will use the same aerial, but there is a great diffrence in frequency between the AM and the Fm band, (800Khz on am and 90Mhz on fm ) so the lengths are shorter on FM than on Am so the FM wouls poss still work but not the AM but also as you had a break in the connection you were getting interference through the cable Radiotwo Quote
