mustangrules Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 Attention all who have been suffering with the dreaded clunk/creaking steering wheel issue. I have just been down to ford dealers( dees croydon ) who havefinally resolved the problem, apparently inside the steering collum there is a bush that needs to be greased about a ten minute job and now i have a perfectlysmooth functioning steering wheel once more!!! seemingly once this bush runs dry it causes the creaking, clunking noise heard and felt through the steering wheel. feels like a new car again hope it keeps up. regards mark. gregers Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 GLAD ITS SORTED,so is this something (no pun intended)the grease monkeys will be keeping an eye on for future servicing or as they now know the problem by issuing a recall, seems to have taken an age to get to the root of the problem with a simple fix. I would imagine that this issue will be noted and periodically checked (if requested) I dont think they will make any recalls but i do think they will filter the remedy through all the dealerships. how long this will take is anyones guess but the sooner it happens the better as stupid problems like this can wreck a cars immage and uptil now i have been very pleased with my car ,and believe me when i say i am extreamly fussy in the cars i choose to own and drive.
