my 19td galaxy keep blowing 150 amp alternater fuse but alternater is ok can anyone help please

Hi Hugh

You say "keeps blowing 150Amp fuse" how many times?

First thoughts are a massive short, but you say the Alternator is ok ! what tests have you done?

the second thought check the electracal connections (not just the fuse connection) but underneath

where the wires attatch.

The fuse is a link bolted into the fuse box and if the bolt is corroded or not itghtened correctly it will "melt" the fuse rather than blow it.

Clean all the bolts before fitting the new fuse and it should be ok or you have a stuck load balancing relay (R30)

Also get your battery checked - you may have a internal short in the battery. I'd take it out and put a battery charger on it to see what happens, or take to somebody with a battery tester.

Have you got the right size/sort of battery - lots of posts re batteries and this fuse melting fusebox.
