blade Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 hi john,i hav a 97 2.3 galaxy and my box broke aswell,i got a motor out of a similiar aged sharan and it work`s a treat. Quote
johnford Posted January 19, 2008 Author Report Posted January 19, 2008 Thanks - Had to bust the bank though - Need the car tomorrow Got linkage in but now having trouble setting up wipers. I forgot to mark the angle where the motor arm was connected. I connected the motor to the plug without the arm and let it move to rest then reconnected it, but I'm thinking now it may have moved. The wipers come too far down the windscreen and move up a bit at rest. I've come in out of the rain for a cup of tea and a think. If anyone can guide me in setting these up it would be appriciated in simple terms I think! Cheers John Quote
chazy Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 you need to remover the motor back of the wiper linkage again turn it on and off by the switch and let it park set the wipers up on the linkage and set the wipers up in parked setting (drivers wiper at bottom almost touching the black plastic screen bottom cover and passengers wiper 2 inches higher)Refit the motor to the assembly give it a try and do a final adjustment after there parked againhope i helped m8 Quote

johnford Posted January 19, 2008 Author Report Posted January 19, 2008 Many Thanx for the reply! - Just in from second soaking and it workedI think I did as you suggested I disconnected the motor set the linkage up and put it back together. Its a crappy job but I expect it would have cost a bit at a garage even spending premium dosh on the motor. TRouble is in this weather you have to have them. Time to relax and chill - maybe a beer and a curry! Thanks Again! John Quote
