Bruce Hatherill Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 I have a 2007 diesel Zetec. The car was returned to the dealer to investigate a suspect rear wheel bearing. The diagnosis was uneven were of rear tyres. No explanation given. I had the wheels changed front to rear to test and the problem does seem to be with the tyres. The car has only done 18000 miles. Anyone experienced a similar problem? Quote
buford_t_justice Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 no I'm afraid not. however, the next question to ask is why have the rear tyres wore unevenly? how uneven are they? do you carry heavy loads in the back of your Gal? there could be a suspension/geometry setup issue with your Galaxy in which case your rotated set of tyres are only going to go the same way. Bruce Hatherill Posted January 14, 2008 Author Report Posted January 14, 2008 No heavy loads carried but I do tow a caravan. Having proved that the problem is with the tyres the next move is to return to the dealer for further investgation. Quote
bluefluffybunny Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 yes i have the same.I do carry heavy loads, but ford have said about this.on the galaxy, i think it was due to heavy loads. do you tow nose heavy or fill the boot and not your van. my father used to do that.unfortunatley, i am on contract hire with tyres included, so no change for me.have done 42k now and the original tyres are still ok, but bloody noisey Quote
mumof4 Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 thought you said you paid 200 quid for two new front tyres?? so the fronts cant be the originals. Quote
