smudge2002 Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 I've just got hold of a CD changer for my Galaxy. It was originally mounted under the front seat of a Mondeo but I'll be putting it into the boot side panel as the wiring for it is already in place. On the sides of the changer there are two square clear plastic covers with arrows on pointing to the top of the unit. Underneath each one there looks to be a peg in a slot which looks as though it moves something inside the changer. If I put it into the side panel so the front is pointing upwards do I need to alter the position of the pegs to point towards the front of th unit? And if I do is it just a case of removing these plastic covers to move the pegs? Any help would be much appreciated. Quote

Hi Smudge Yes the plastic covers come off, and move the pins as you say, then the covers should go back on ! Radiotwo Quote
smudge2002 Posted January 12, 2008 Author Report Posted January 12, 2008 Hi RadioTwo, Thanks for that. Any idea what they move? Before I noticed them I plugged the changer in to make sure it was working and it played a disc ok. Smudge2002. Quote

Hi again Yes its to align the mechinisum so it can be mounted vertical or horizontal (or between) I assume when you had it under thw seat it was lay flat ? and now you want to mount upright ! if you will have to change the pins (do both sides) I think on mine there is a arrow which points the way you want it to mount ! jim4 Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 It's definitely to do with whether the changer is positioned vertically or horizontally. For a while mine were set to horizontal for a vertically positioned changer i.e. the wrong way and the CDs kept on "skipping" when I went over a bump. Quote
