1.8 Tdci Vibrates When Modestly Accelerated From 2100 Rpm

I have a 6 months old S-MAX 1.8 TDCi (with cruise control). Whenever I moderately accelerate from around 2100 rpm the engine vibrates and makes a lot of noise. It also happens if I have the cruse control activated and the road goes slightly up-hill (I live in Denmark, so our hills are VERY flat). If I press the pedal harder it goes away, but it is a big annoyance with the cruise control.

Hi Tom ...... agree with you about the firmware updates and I have heard of this problem with the 2.0 TDCi engines fitted to the Mondeo. I seem to remember it was something to do with the Injection pump timing. As it is only six months old I would take it to a dealer as it will still be under warranty.
