Tigger Posted February 12, 2004 Author Report Posted February 12, 2004 Have rung Esure to clear things up. Caravan is covered but only 3rd party so yes you can tow. Suppliment if you go abroad of about Quote
Jim Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Tigger, AFAIK, the insurance for for caravan will cover your van whilst towing. Also, it's not a bad idea to get a camping carnet as this will also provide insurance cover whilst on site. Check www.ukcampsite.co.uk for more info regarding this issue. Quote
Another?Maybe! Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 I have just transferred to eSure from FordInsure. Last year FordInsure was Quote
johnb80 Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 I don't tow a caravan but I do tow a huge tow-a-van that is on the limit for a Galaxy. The TDi is the most impressive vehicle I have ever towed with, second only to my Range Rover. The torque from the TDi is just what you need and feels very much like my 4.2 V8 Rangie. Tigger Posted June 6, 2004 Author Report Posted June 6, 2004 I know someone with a sharan petrol. They bought it to tow a caravan! They say it feels a little sluggish. I did tell them at the time to buy a diesel? they no listen! I feel the TDi is brill when towing although not fast the grunt it has is fantastic! Quote
Another?Maybe! Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 Thanks for info on towing. Sounds good, guess I'll have to change from petrol to diesel. PeteR Quote
Guest jtwonk Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 Just renewed mine with Bell direct which is a sister company of Admiral & Elephant for Quote
Another?Maybe! Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 Suggest try eSure (Michael Winner!), or Sainsburys Bank. Can get quotes from both on-line and save 10% Chap who started eSure originally started Direct Line. PeteR Quote
rwtomkins Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 I've just found a handy website called http://www.insuresupermarket.com/motor/default.asp You put your details in and it searches more than 50 car insurance companies for quotes, including nearly all the best-known ones. It's not perfect: it doesn't always come up with a result for each and every company. But it's a good starting point. Quote
Coxsey Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Has anyone tried Tesco insurence. Cheepset by fay... sorry cant remember how much as last November...... Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 (edited) Tried Tesco last November but Sainsburys were cheaper! Sainsburys is run by e-sure, but the quote I got from Sainsburys was cheaper than the one I got from e-sure! - and I got nectar points plus an extra discount by paying with a Sainsburys Bank credit card. Another?Maybe! Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Sainsburys is run by Esure! PeteR Quote
rwtomkins Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Yes, I just renewed with Tesco after they came up with a much cheaper quote than my previous insurer, Direct Line. Oddly, Direct Line told me they run Tesco's car insurance. But they declined to match Tesco's quote. Quote
Guest Danny1960 Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Anybody tried Hastings direct ? By far the cheapest for me - Quote
