Anyway i want to put a diesal lump in there. Can you please advise on what lump to get with gearbox as well.can i get a six speed box in there And what other bits and bobs will i need to finish the job. And what would the power difference be. Will it make my eyeballs bleed Please help me out Happy new year Quote
mk2vr6 Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 easy option go buy a tdi if your that desperate for one? the work involved would be way to much depending on what engine you get? or just buy a nail and swap over the good bits from your to build it up Quote
Stevoo Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 Agreed be cheaper to sell your gal and buy a diesel.petrol engines are Ford, Diesel engines are VW. Quote
El Dingo Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Definitely easier and almost certainly cheaper to change the car.I'll bet insurance would be loaded (if they would even insure you without an engineer's certificate) and the car would be nearly impossible to re-sell later (and worth a lot less). You might find it difficult if not impossible to change the registration details. Quote
HalfPint Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 Thanks for all the replies i'm going to loook around for a complete diesal gal and then go from there. Quote
