Front Washer Jets

Hi people

Here goes with my first question, my front washer jets have blocked up, I have removed & blown out with air line both ways but still no joy really just 1 tricling & other spraying where it wants, anyone have any sudgestions how to clean out or are they now worn & new ones now required.

the fan type spray jets? if so you have probably been using non approved washer fluid! and thats does them no good!

tbh I only use water maybe this is the problem?

nah like I said I have had them off the car & blown them out & water is flowing through but not as it should

Ok you say you blown BOTH ways then if there was a bit of dirt in, then you might have lodged it in harder

you should never blow (with a airline) the same way of the flow of water.

 

as you say take off the pipe and blow back the oppisite way

nice! mines sitting on the driveway awaiting to be done :( the 2.0ltr 8v is stripped and awaiting a top end rebuild, once thats done the front end will be pulled apart and cleaned up ready for the new lump, then I want to remove and clean up the rear beam, all this is reliant on the mrs clearing her crap out of MY garage in the new year so I can start

she's moaning about my golf being stuck on the driveway but it's her junk in MY garage thats keeping it there :lol: I have the offer of space in a mates workshop but I know that if I take iit, I'll never get it done! out of sight out of mind

my engine is a C&R built 1.9 running 145bhp, got a g60 box going in as it blows diff rivets through the casing, also got edition1 g60 electric recaros going in, should be a well sorted car when it's done

we were looking at 145/150 with a standard head and a hot cam! the last owner of the lump had around that out it! I'm going to keep the old MFI system and junk the EFI system that way I can use the oe loom instead of cutting'n'shuting the EFI loom into the existing, so I'm not sure of what hp it will be kicking out? my mate has this great idea of running it on carbs! but as he's not paying for them he can keep his ideas to himself :lol:

8v on carbs? 16v yes but 8v inlet is on the wrong side & very tight anyway, if you can afford a 16v on carbs though you should get more power approx 160-170bhp

the idea was to remove the scuttle at the top of the fire wall and then use a manifold to allow us to lift the carbs up and into this area! and if needed to remove and rebuild the firewall to give clearance! but it was his idea not mine and as he has already killed three mk1's :( with his dumb ideas he's not getting his hands on my car! for now the 2.0ltr will suit my needs! till the VR6 bug bite me again :lol:
