Hi my sharan GL 96 (N) rev counter and petrol ilumanation lights have given up the ghost my Temp and mph are still lighting up but nothing on the other two are these two separate bulbs or just the one ? and how easy is it to replace ?

 

Plus ive only justed noticed this without the lights on my instrument lights are illuminated is this normal only just relised this as it was a bit dark and i switched my ignition on and my temp and mph section lit up

yup, this is normal.. they stay on constantly (not sure about mk2's though)

 

any idea what kinda bulbs these use?

extend and lower the steering wheel, feel around the top of the dash insert (clock binicle) at the top there are two screws, remove them, at the top of bincle prise it away from the dash, leaning it forwards toward you then unclip the lower mounting clip and remove the binicle

there are two screws holding the clocks in place, undo and remove,, again pivot the clocks towards you, feel around the back for the multi plug/s undo and lift the clocks clear , the rest is easy enough......
