Shanda Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 I am not sure if I am writing in the right form, but I have a problem which the local garages are confused about. I have a Galaxy 1.9 Giesel Auto 115bhp. At around 40-55mph it shakes badly. When I take foot off the gas or put in neutral problem goes away. Has anybody had this or any advise on this? Quote

That sounds like a problem with an inner CV joint to me. Look for excess play in the joints, they should be movable but not with a lot of slack. Quote
adamski Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 I WONDER WHETHER YOU HAD ANY LUCK WITH THE VIBRATION ON YOUR CAR I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH MINE. IT STARTS AT ABOUT 50 MPH AND GOES AT ABOUT 75MPH. I HAVE HAD THE WHEELS BALANCED WITH NO DIFFERENCE, IT SEEMS TO BE THE CAR VIBRATING NOT THE STEERING AND IT IS WORSE WHEN UNDER LOAD EITHER TOWING OR ACCELERATING. Quote
gregers Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 i apologize for hi-jacking this thread,i have posted in the puma forum but as this forum is a lot busier im also posting here,as i think this might be the same. my mum owns a 1.4 puma and she says that every time she takes her foot off the accelerator the car starts to shake, could it be the c.v joints?any info much appreciated. Neils TDi again Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 Gregers Its almost certain to be hte CV joint on the Puma simply reducing speed should relieve the vibration or turning a bend. Its likely to be the nearside as it has the most flexing when the steering is used to teh full lock. N Quote
gregers Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 cheers neil ill pass that info on to her. Quote
zeplin43 Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 I had the same vibration on 1.9 tdi 115 hp auto, fixing inner cv joint resolved the problem. Quote
