Fitting A Ripspeed In Dash Dvd Player

i have treated myself to a ripspeed 720 dvd player that fits in replacement of the 600 cd player. has anyone fitted one of these? if so any sugestions (positive ones please).

the player has a wire that stops you playing dvd's with the hand brake off, where is the easiest place to make the conection?

i have the replacement facia to make it a proper fit.

put it straight to earth that way your passanger can watch it while you drive

you can not as it is illegal

or route it to the hand brake and connect it to the micro switch on the lever

this is a lot of work as you will probally have to take it out with in the next few months when it breaks , this is a case of not if but when it breaks

hi.

 

hope it breaks while still under warrenty then.......

it looks a long job to get the wire to the hand brake switch, not much room to get into switch. hoped to have some one tell me a shorter route.

i have earthed to watch for now when waiting for she who must be obayed. i may get a proper job done in the warmer weather.

just come back from skiing in les gets France, perfect conditions, not too cold, and 5 days of sunshine.....

You just need to earth the handbrake wire, just scotchlock it to the main earth wire to the headunit but before anyone moans please remember that watching dvd's whilst driving is stupid and illegal !!

Nahh! just earth it like one of the others said.

I fitted a Panasonic screen/headunit to my other car & earthed it directly to the radio casing so I can use mine when on the move (for sat nav).

and keeping well mate just changed the sharan for a ghia x galaxy and a new set of 18" ssw mesh2 rims with very tinted windows

Does anybody have any experience of the RipSpeed 720 ... I was thinking of fitting one myself and would be very interested to hear anyones feedback.

yes i have! its a piece of cake. get a harness adapter from halfords and the arial socket. plus to complete the instalation the face to cover the half hole that is left. if you need more info let me know.

hi ya

 

i had one fitted about a year ago works really well and two screens in the back keep the nippers quiet on long journies. have even messed about putting mp3's on dvd discs and managed to get 1111 tracks on one disc. even plays AVI format dvds. and yes the little wire that stops you from using it while driving will come off sooner or later, probably sooner. cool piece of kit. only problem i found is that you cannot use the old stereo stalk but have got used to that.
