recycle Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Like others that seem to have commented, I seem to be getting a constant low level noise from the power steering pump which esculates when I move the wheel reaching its peek when on full lock. Again like others I have been told that this is characteristic of the car and nothing can be done ...... surely this cannot be true? I cannot believe that Ford would miss this such a basic fault in the launch of the new model .... ??? Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone else have this model without the problem. Has anyone got a garage to fix the problem and if so, how? Quote
Bruce Hatherill Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 I have the same prblem and have been told "there all like that sir" Quote
Saif Rehman Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 There are some members here who have had either the power steering pump or the steering rack changed under warranty. I would insist on getting the car repaired. How old is the car because if it's under a certain amount of timescale, you can reject the car if they don't budge. Speak to the Fords Customer Care at their HQ and see what they suggest. Keep us updated so others can benefit if they encounter the same problems. Quote
wazza Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I have had this problem, and my car went in on friday to have a new steering pump fitted, and the noise was still louder than ever, My garage were helpful and say they havent heard of this before and they have phoned technical support at fords and they are still flumuxed. I have dropped the car again today and they have agreed to sort out the problem. Will keep you posted Quote
