_dg Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 There are a couple of past threads on this available from the search. IIRC, there are 3 mentioned suppliers from mainly volkswagan kit specialists. Quote
Guest dumpie Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 nice thanx i'll ave a look. Quote
_dg Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 Have a look at http://www.caracterestyling.co.uk/sharan/index.shtml. Now, I think the front spoiler is a bit brash, but there is a nice rear roof spoiler for above the window. From the ones I have seen, I prefer Fords' own front spoiler and side skirts as these appear stylish, but not too loud. I don't know if a rear skirt adds anything though. Quote
Guest dumpie Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004  yea i ad a look at the ford 1 on the web site & i liked it but they say it comes painted & ready 2 fit can any 1 tell me if this is rite.. Quote
_dg Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 I asked the same question here a while back and never got a definitive answer. I think someone said that it came primed, but I am not sure if they had actually bought from Ford. It seems that you could buy it on the basis that it came painted, and then complain to Trading Standards if it doesn't !! I suggest you buy one first, and then let me know. lol Quote
Guest chunkyandlouie Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 Hi Dumpie, I'm not sure about the whys and wherefores about buying a kit as mine was a factory fitted option done by original owner. If you do get one done make sure you tell your insurance company. I was very surprised when several insurers wouldn't touch my car because of the kit - it's only a diesel after all! I eventually got a reasonable quote from Churchill through Lloyds TSB. Also, if you do fit the Ford kit be carefull with the front end - it's lower than you think!!! Quote

Guest nimrod Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Formula 1 Racecar Stick-on Petrol Flap Cover - I'm worried that this may affect my insurance - does anyone know? PS. It's a bright chrome one with raised fake boltheads  Affect your insurance? i'd more inclined to worry what those raised bolt heads would do to your fuel consumption! all that extra drag! :o and what happens to the poor pedestrian that you run over? are not raised bolt heads as bad as bull bars! :Pmaybe you should get one of the new tuv, euro safety approved caps, the type where the bolts are counter sunk. http://www.rmcarspares.co.uk/acatalog/dx_jp.jpg Quote

italiastar Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 I saw the ultimate on a market stall at the weekend - fake brake discs in bright blue or red. Does anyone have experience of fitting these to a car with original discs as they look much better than the real ones! PS. Can I bring my go-faster stripes back for a refund - they've made no diffrence to the speed of the car!! Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 Your go-faster stripes actually slow the car down as it's more weight to carry! Quote
italiastar Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 Ivor, Thanks for that - I've chucked the extra seats out and I'm getting an extra 3 mph - even with an extra go -faster stripe and alloy tax disc holder - wife and kids arn't impressed though! Quote
Guest daddycool Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 by removing all the crisps, crayons, sweets, teddies, barbie's and wifes make up you may find you will gain an extra 6 mph!!!!!!!!! Quote
