belial Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Having just passed another MOT with no problems, (second year running) the guy who does my MOT's as put an advisory on the MOT slip about the heater pipes going down to the fuel tank. There is a very small leak hardly noticable but it is there, it's the connection between aluminium pipes and rubber connectors, the jubilee connectors are showing water escape stains, so i will be getting them replaced, it will cost me around Quote
Beyond Help? Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 I don't think there are any pipes going down to the fuel tank, there are pipes to the rear heater if you have a diesel engine. I would be inclined to remove the clips and rubber pipes, clean the ally ones up and smear them with RTV and reassemble them. All cars always use more fuel in the winter. How much has you fuel consumption changed? Quote
belial Posted December 9, 2007 Author Report Posted December 9, 2007 Thanks for the reply, i will be removing and cleaning said parts. My fuel consumption as dropped from just over 200 MPG on Quote

insider Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 I think he means miles not MPG. If you use cost as a measure rather than quantity of fuel then you will do less miles for Quote
