roly1977 Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 hi all my galaxy still has this problem it runs poorly and has no power as soon as you put any load on it even on the flat but worse on hills 1st gear about 15 mph no acceleration and hessitates ford had it for a day took exhaust off in case it was blocked, checked compression that was fine plugged it in no fault codes changed air and fuel filter new air mass meter all they could find was 2 not so good glow plugs and suggested it could be fuel pump or injectors they say you cant recon these injectors was told Quote
tiny Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 When my petrol Gal' was seriously down on power it turned out to be a knackered catalytic converter. I know ford say they took the exhaust off to check, but if you can get underneath, give the cat a good thump, if it rattles or bangs its knackered. Worth a quick check just in case Mr Ford was having an off day. Quote
Jaguar09 Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 Hi, This sounds just like the problem I have just sorted, took me ages to get to the bottom plus over 1000 pounds. Not saying it is the problem but I ended up having a new ECU fitted that sorted out all my troubles. Check out my tread about 'losing power and kangerooing" might help. Hope you get it fixed soon as it took me over 8weeks to sort out. Good luck Quote
roly1977 Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 been told now it could be the exhaust gas sensor is it possible if so where is it please Quote

Smilge Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Your Gal sounds like its in Limp home mode. What you can do is to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and see if the ECU resets the current hard latched fault codes. Remember you'll need the Radio code and you'll have to follow the ECU learn mode instructions in the Manual. If the running is still poor then you might want to have a read of this: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=5920 Quote
