seatkid Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I fail to see what testing the passenger side window has to do with the drivers side... :( How do you know the motors Ok on the drivers side? - does it make a noise? At least that'll eliminate the switch. Then....you have to strip the door panel down.... :D Quote
Guest mrsiep Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I TOOK OF THE ASSEMBLY AND AS THE WIRING HARNESESS R THE SAME ON THE PASS SIDE AND CONNECTED IT UP AND TESTED IT FROM ALL SWITCHES Quote

Guest smithgt Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 I've have a very similar problem with my Front Drivers side electric windows. I just had to rewire the cable through the door hing and now the window is working okay. Quote
Guest Gary Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Similar electric window problems to those above. My driver's side cannot be put down or up with the switch, but the passenger side can be put down but not up! The passenger switch does operate the passenger window OK! I took out the driver's side switch panel, and it looked fine. I then used a piece of copper connecting wire across the switch black connector block and still the same response, so switch OK. How do I pull off the rubber tube in the door hinge to check the wires for continuity? Also, if I have to take the door trim panel off to check the window motor, how do I do that? Can't see any screws or clips to undo.ThankZZZ Quote
Guest smithgt Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 On the '98 Galaxy, the rubber cover in the door hinge just unscrews. I found that one of the cable had proken away from the plug. As far as the door trim goes its just clipped on. If you start at the bottom, you should be able to see some small (yellow) clips - you maky break a couple, but spares are readily available. Quote
