Digital Display Flashing 8's

When I start the galaxy 1.9tdi ghia 1998 with 175K, the digital display flashes with 8's for about 15 seconds and then returns to normal. I can't see anything wrong. Does anyone know what this means or do I have a problem looming.

I am assuming you are talking about the Climate Control unit ( air-con) ?

 

If so this indicates a fault.

 

Does everything appear to work correctly with your air-con ?

Yes, I do mean the aircon display. The aircon works fine. I used it the oter day to de-mist the windcreen on a wet day and it worked a treat.

if the aircon panel is flashing thats indicating a fault of some kind,might just need regasing,or something else is afoot.
