Hi all got stuck in a bloody McDdonalds drive in today , i made the mistake of switching my car off while waiting for my coffee , got pushed out by the staff did get a few moans but as i explained if it was a proper drive through then i wouldn't have had to switch it off in the first place lol ! Anyhow its happened a dozen or so times today never had a problem with starting before . The symtoms are as follows : open car with fob as normal shut door and place key in barrel turn key and nothing totally dead no relays or fuel pump noise just a rapid flashing drivers door light after several attempts key goes in noise from fuel pump door light stays on and car starts as normal , looking for some help people as i cannot afford to get stuck got a dodgy ticker so cannot even push a pen without going red in the face . Thinking possible fuel pump relay or relay 30 anyone any other advice / ideas ?

rapidly flashing door led -> trouble with pats?? Changed anything on your keyring?

PATS

Passive Anti Theft System

Stops you starting the car unless you have the correct key.

Or to be more exact the correct chip which is enclosed in your key.

This can sometimes fall out of remote keys when changing the battery.

Obviously yours hasn't.

no im sure the battery is just used for remote locking/unlocking,might be worth trying to reprogram the key?take a look in the faqs for the procedure.

i believe the battery is for the remote locking not the pats? relay 30 when it whent wrong on my car made the car cut out when driving. it would re-start after a couple of goes.
