DaveM Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Hi , The wife has just phoned to say that the light above the temperature warning light is flashing. It's a 1998 Galaxy 2.8 V6 The needle on the temperature gauge is in the middle (norm) position and the engine seem to be running normally. However the light above the temp gauge is flashing. any ideas what this means ?thanks Quote
insider Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Could be telling you that the coolant level is low? This wouldn't necessarily cause the engine temperature to rise above normal in the current cold weather (until you lose much more coolant of course!) Quote
Grandad Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 Check that the electrical connection is fully pushed home on the front of the expansion tank. The light will flash if it is disconnected. The connection may be loose or you may have knocked it if you have recently changed the battery. The connection point is directly behind the battery, low down on the expansion tank. I also have a flashing temperature light but mine is probably because I had a blown head gasket ( Quote
