Guest Anthony72 Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 My Mondeo Verona 1800 petrol hatchback (1995), has been very good to me, with nothing major going wrong in all those years, but one thing that really irritates me is the tyre wear on the passenger side's front tyre. I've lost count of how many tyres that's been fitted.Anyone else have the same problem? Another slight problem is the rattling parcel tray. When everything is quiet in the car, I always get that rattling from the rear of the car. Very annoying. Quote
Guest paul foster Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 ive had at least 3 set of front tyes in the last year Quote

Ivor_E_Tower Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 ...and use some self-adhesive velcro to stop the parcel shelf rattling. Only Quote
Guest j_mchattie Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 I was looking through the Ford TIS cd for your car (and mine), and it also identifies noise from the rear of the car as the boot lid. Its a different sound to the parcel shelf of course, but its annoying too. They say move the lock to the lowest position (so it shuts really hard) and see how it goes. If that doesnt work, then drill out the rivits that hold the two rubber blocks on at the edge of the tailgate. Put a couple of spacers under the block, and rivit it on again. They say 2mm of washers should do it. Another really annoying one is the knock that can happen when your just rolling straight over slightly lumpy ground (sounds like its in the front footwells). It turns out to be the anti roll bar supports. There are two collars which can fall off over time, and allow the bar so slide left and right, as well as rotate the way it should. A couple of exhaust clamps are recommended, on the outside of the bushes. There are special clamps that can be bought from ford for this. Ill let everyone know if it works when i do it. James Quote
