Beyond Help? Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 On the last few (cold) mornings my Alhambra TDi has been beeping when I turn the key on. Am I correct in thinking that this means the battery is being detected as having a low voltage? The green indicator on the battery suggests it is fully charged, so I may have a cell collapsing if it is low voltage. Quote
gregers Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 how cold has it been where you are, mine has been beeping to warn me its really cold(wow really sherlock). Quote
Beyond Help? Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 Well mine has never done it before, even in minus 10 in the Cairngorms, so I don't think it is a frost warning. Quote
mumof4 Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 Are there any warning lights that come up on the dash? or do you hear just a beep. Quote
dipsomaniac Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 if 5 beeps it is more than likely low battery voltage. replacing battery ( Quote
Ex-Galaxy person Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Mine does this occasionally - when it does happen it's always on a cold morning. It's happened once in the last couple of weeks, and once or twice last winter. I'd always assumed it was some kind of cold warning. I couldn't find anything in the manual - however, your experience of it not happening when it's been -10 seems to suggest it's some kind of battery warning - and we all know that cold weather finds the bad batteries anyway. As mine is only occasional, I'm not going to worry about replacing my battery yet, but a regular occurance would make me do so. Not sure if this helps! Phillip Quote
alterego Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 5 beeps - error message indicating faulty crankshaft position sensor output. Caused by low battery voltage or faulty sensor/wiring. Quote
