Whats The Difference

Ok without wanting to sound like a complete thicko here can one of you techno wizkids please tell me what the difference between a MP3 player and an ipod is.?

 

Which would you recomend?

 

Wifey thinks she would like one for xmas so she can use it in the gym.

An Ipod is a specific make ( Apple ) of mp3 player.

 

It tends to be the most expensive but has a much better range of add-ons etc.

 

However I would definitly look at the alternatives as they usually offer much better value for money,
