Mk1 Boot Won't Open

Hi all,

 

Pesky kids tried opening my boot with a screwdriver and have messed it up. It's not opening with the central locking and now I can't open it at all. I took it to my garage (not Frauds), but they couldn't open it either.

 

The only time I've got it open is when I take it to the jet wash guys. It seems to open for them but I reckon that's because water's getting in somewhere and releasing the switch (???)

 

The kids also screwdrivered my doors too so instead of buying new locks, I spent

I think i would start by getting rid of the kids, i think ive read on here that the only way is to remove the inside cover of the door which is not easy with it shut but is possible (so they say)

you need to pull away the interior trim from the lower section of the screen, then stick your arm into the gap! fing the mechanical lever that operatesthelock and flick it, the lock will then/should release allowing you to open the hatch from the outside, hit the search engine it's been covered before.....
