Engine Stalling

hello there my gal broke down yesterday as i was doing the school run and when i try to restart the engine will rev for a couple of seconds and then die again any ideas

its a 1996 2l dohc

Hi, bit late i'm sure but that is the key programming- have that problem with my spare key- try another key.
