Comhander Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Hi Hoping someone is able to help. Car2001 2.3iAuto GhiaProblem:Whilst refitting radio/Air Con facia I shorted out the wires from the Parking Sensor switch. Having done this the car will not start.Other factors:No green footbrake indicator on speedo - shows needs footbrake to move from Park.Non standard Parking Sensor switch - Illuminated switch - 4 connections 3 used - no Ford connector - spades used. Questions:What fuse is likely to control the parking sensors? How is it linked to the ignition?Any other questions or suggestions? Here's hoping Quote
big_kev Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 It might be fuse 5 which seems to have a link to the autobox or possibly fuse 2 Quote
Comhander Posted November 16, 2007 Author Report Posted November 16, 2007 It might be fuse 5 which seems to have a link to the autobox or possibly fuse 2 Spot on with No. 5 replaced and working. Thanks Kev. Would you happen to know which 3 connectors I should use on an original parking sensor switch and 5 connections numbered 1-5 on the new switch? I have 3 cables Red, Green and Black. My system seems to be live all the time on reverse and the switch is needed for the front - is this normal? 2001 2.3i Auto Ghia Quote
