MrT Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 I don't like the heated front screen at night. I find the elements in it sparkle especially with oncoming cars with xeon lamps. I also don't like the way they removed the steering wheel radio control on the newer model Ghia's. The trip computer on the older models used to tell you how many miles until you needed to refuel. The newer ones do not. The older models had an infinitely adjustable intermittent wiper speed, the newer models have fixed intervals. The older models had electrically operated rear quarter lights. On the new model only one opens and the other is manual. On the newer models you have to pay for the rear area cover, it used to be free. Have you ever accidently turned the climate control off, the car mists up in seconds in only moderately poor conditions. The computer unit sometimes gets confused over which door is open. The price of the Xeon headlamps. Why do women think that the door trays are litter bins? Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Should have got an Alhambra - they have all the bits you want. Never mind. Quote
iainkirk Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Oooooh predictable SA!!! But they have a SEAT badge and are uglier...you can't have it both ways... /me can sense both barrels coming... Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Uglier? Hmmmm..... If you prefer that "Focus" look then your dead right. Function over form? Value for money? Auto Emo Quote
NikpV Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004
The computer unit sometimes gets confused over which door is open.
ours used to do this until we had the intrument panel changed (to sort out brake warning incorrectly activating) we are still waiting for another intrument panel change to sort out the fuel gauge problem ahh that reminds me its about time I hassled them again Nik Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 SA I - does the Alhambra really come with women who think that the door bins aren't litter bins? If so, I want one! Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 OK, poetic license required here.... my hovercraft is full of eels... Quote
seatkid Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Although SEATs have better equipment, I agree with Iankirk, the latest Seats are much uglier internally, the "sports" look = spartan to my mind. Best interior were definitley the original 96 SEATs. The carpet was a patterned deep pile velour - not the crap fitted since 98, the seat and door material was also far plusher. The heated windscreen sparkle used to bother me but five years later I think the sparkle has gone - maybe the elements have slightly oxidised or something.
Why do women think that the door trays are litter bins?
Your'e obviously married to the wrong woman... Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 You can add the Sharan to the uglier camp - the Alhambra and Sharan share the same body panels, interiors and light clusters.... But then again, not everyone likes a car looking like a big common or garden Focus.... Quote
iainkirk Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Yep, my other half thinks the door pockets are litter bins. Surely she should have realised by now, that the location of the litter bin is the front passenger foot well !!! Quote
Tigger Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Yep have to agree the new Alhambra looks alittle strange still you could always put a paper bag over it. Or buy a transit! and cut a couple of holes in the front to see through! Only joking. or am I? Quote
