Hi All,

My side lights have gone....yes both of them now !

How do I change them? Do I undo the complete light and pull it out or is there a way from behind the wheel.

If I turn the wheel I can put hand and get to the side light......how do I get it out - turn it, pull it ????

Help much appreciated.

Yes, turn the bulb holder anti clockwise to release it once you have access through the sliding plastic panel. However it is sometimes easier to slide the whole light unit out for access. Just mark the slotted fittings before you slacken the screws so light alignment will not be affected when refitting.

Get your lad or Mrs to do it if you have big hands and it can be done thru the hatch. The nearside is easist because the air intake hose blocks part of the access to the off side one.

If they have both "gone now" you should be ashamed of yourself. One could be down to miss-fortune: it was on earlier occifer honest I checked it meself.

I find it easier to remove the whole headlight unit than fiddle around under the wheel arch

You need to "manufacture" a long thin screwdriver, to get to the two "bolts" that are at the bottom of the light fittings

Don't remove these altogether, as putting them back is near impossible, just loosen for one turn

Remove the other three "bolts" (they have the star fitting on top) and then wiggle and slide the light unit out

Click off the back plate of the light and then pull out the sidelight, replace with new and reverse the operation

Quite easy really

Hi all

I too found it easier to remove the whole headlamp unit.

I used a 1/4" drive torx bit on an extension bar to access the lower fixings and I loosened the grille to aid removal of the unit.

It only took a few minutes and beat trying to stuff my fat mit through the stuck access hole in the liner - in the dark.

Is it worth replacing the lamps with LED's to prevent having to replace them any time in the future?
