wizza Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Hi all, Grateful for advice re my high brake light that has packed up on my T reg TDi . A bulb warning light has come on the instrument panel, I've checked all the bulbs in the high brake light and they all look intact, as do the two wires coming out of the roof lining and the connector. The lower brake lights are working.I tried checking the fuses but couldn't quite align the fuses to the hand book. I was looking for fuse 20 which should have been a 10 but I found a working 25 in what I thought was 20. Checked either side and all fuses are ok. Any other advice? Regards Wizza Quote
swanny1970 Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Hi Wizza Had exactly the same problem myself a while ago. I traced mine back to the wiring in the boot. At the top right hand side of the boot lid there is a rubber gator. I pulled this off carefully to inspect the wiring and found a black broken wire. Hoping for the best, connected them back up with a connector block, taped them up securely and hey presto, problem solved. Just a thought mate, could be the same thing that is causing yours. Hope this helps, Regards, Peter Quote
wizza Posted October 28, 2007 Author Report Posted October 28, 2007 Thanks Peter, I'll have nose round and see if I have a similar scenario. Regards Wizza Quote
suzuki91 Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 it may pay you to change the bulb, they can look ok but be blown? Quote
sparky Paul Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 If you do find that the wire/s are broken in the tailgate anaconda (highly likely), it is a good idea to check the loom which goes to the rest of the tailgate. There's a fair chance that you will find more damaged wires in there, and it would be wise to repair them before something goes pop. Quote
