Delivery Times

Hi,

 

Has anybody had to experience long waits for delivery of their Galaxy. I ordered a 2.0 TDCI(140) Ghia at the beginning of August and still have no delivery date. Is this normal?

Ive never ordered a new car so i wouldnt know but one thing is for sure, there is no way what so ever would i still be waiting after nearly three months.

 

Ive got no patience at the best of times.

 

I wont even by a new telly unless its in the

shop ready to go in the back of the car.

Maybe that's why it was so cheap? :)

 

Or maybe you ordered it through a Nigerean Dealer........50% downpayment required........ ^_^

 

Or is it because my new job is a delivery driver for Ford.... ^_^

if it was a factory order it will be a minimum of 12 weeks,

also the 2.0tdci is on extra delay from ford at present.

Yep same here. Ordered my MkIII TDCi in August. Still no VIN or build date set yet. Was told by the dealer could now be November or even December! Was also told that the 2.0 TDCi was in great demand and that Ford were pushing them through to the Mondeo production. All good things come...

I ordered fully loaded Ghia X 2.0 tdci auto in July, still no production date. Dealer gives same reasons that there is a shortage of 2.0tdci engines and auto boxes ! They are chasing ford production today but have mentioned a December build! :16:

 

I had a great discounted deal in place (via drive the deal) and a few weeks ago the dealer told me the discounts had been removed by ford for this quarter and the price went up

If you can live with a 6 month old one in a choice of specs and trims immediate availability try this guy.

Reminds me of the times when i used to work at BMW and when the X5 came out, people were prepared to wait 12-18 months for the car that cost anything from 35K upwards with a 5% deposit to secure a build slot! And it wasn't 2 or 3 punters but dozens (More cash than brains!)

Yeah but the 25% off list discount helps to while away the months of waiting :lol: !, and the current workhorse (Renault Grand Scenic) is not due to be sacked in until January

Delivery update..........

 

Apparently the delay on my specific car is the inclusion of the convers display option which is not available for production until 18th November (no mention of engine shortages now :lol: ), nice to find out after a 13 week wait what the 'new' delay is !

What is the score with quarter rear windows. I have ordered 2.0 TDCI GHIA with X pack, should i expect electric rear quarter windows?

Over 11 weeks now and still no sign of a build date, let a lone delivery :blink: This better be worth the wait!

Just got a build date of 8th December.....delivery early Jan. Four Months from ordering...some wait!

I finally got a build date - 8th Dec for early Jan delivery (similar to Jed).

 

Lets hope they build them before the Christmas party Jed!! Same car, Ghia X.

 

Jed, did you resolve your price issues with your dealer? I spoke to my dealer and he assured me there would be no price change, in fact he said they had a price guarantee that would pass on any (unlikely) price reductions.

Ive never been in a position to buy a new car and reading all the posts here im not sure i would want to either.

 

Just wondering, if you put a part ex car in against a new Gal and they take six months to bolt it together do they still offer you the same price on the part ex car they offered six months ago ?

Yes, well we did when i worked at BMW, but saying that we were getting decent cars (About 3-5 year old) in as p/ex as apposed to bangers!
