RADIOTWO Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 (edited) Hi AllI am posting this for "Biscuit" with regards to his car. We stripped down the heater yesterday, checked the "glowplug" and was fine, but the question is :- can we get this to work with Vag-Com, and how? Radiotwo Edited October 19, 2007 by RADIOTWO Quote
marinabrid Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 mk1 models wont talk to vagcom. mk2 do. i think this is correct. we got two mk1 and none will speak. also one has a booster from a mk2 fitted and that wont talk either, so i think its something in the ecu rather than the heater. redneck01246 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 mine will not communicate with the heater if you turn ignition on to run vag com as rossteck suggest but it will if i have engine runningdont know if they are all like thatredneck Quote
Rallim Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Yep, my booster heater will not communicate unless the engine is running. (Mk2). ^_^ Gordon Quote

Rallim Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 I've never found there to be a special order of doing things to talk to it, I normally connect the laptop to the car and startup VAG-COM. Then I start the engine after which I just click on the '18-Aux Heat' Module and it connects. I am using a simple serial 'ebay' lead with VAG-COM 311.2N. Does this help..? Gordon Quote
