Danny Boy Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Hi ya My battery is dying on my key fob. I would rather do this myself so am happy to have a go but can anyone tell me what type of battery I need and also will the 'memory' in my key be erased and I'll have to get it reset? (Its the seat 2 button with the fold out key fob) Also my heated wing mirror has cracked, can I just replace the glass itself and whatever the connectiuon is the for the heating element or do I need to replace the whole thing? Cheers  :D :D  Quote
mumof4 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Hi danny boy, cant help with the key, but yes you can just replace the glass in the wing mirror..the connections come with the mirror. When i ordered one from ford for the galaxy it cost just under 20 quid. Quote
El Dingo Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 My advice is... ...post this in the Technical Section (Galaxy). Mof4 could move it for you? ;) Quote

(Its the seat 2 button with the fold out key fob) Its a standard watch type battery ( any watch shop will have it ). Click on the FAQ link on my signature there is a link there to how to reprogramme your key after changing battery. Make sure the immobiliser chip doesn't fall out when you change the battery or you'll end up with a key that'll open the car but won't start it! . Edited October 11, 2007 by big_kev Quote

mumof4 Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Unless......you edited your post to include it.hmmmmm...or maybe he was just reiterateing the point?? anyway, thread moved to the depths of the bottomless technical section. Quote
Sher Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Battery in mine is a Litium 3V CR2032. Make immaterial. Available at most Supermarkets. I've never had to reprogram my system even though after 30 months the remote started eating them. 1 every 2 weeks whilst I was away from the UK. Upon return to the UK Ford took the car for 30minutes and replaced the internals. Quote
Danny Boy Posted October 12, 2007 Author Report Posted October 12, 2007 Thanks all for your help, got a new one yesterday Quote
