mk2vr6 Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 euro car parts or GS&F, it's a fairly easy job! I'm sure someone else will be along later and post up the relevent section of the the TIS to show you how it's done Quote
big boy stevie Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 looked at manual case of jack up car, put on axle stands use jack to compress spring undo bolts put on new shocks and tighten up job done. thats why im not going to pay someone to do it. thay have got some on ebay at Quote
seatkid Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Why risk ebay? You could end up with china's best...... Sachs gas shock absorbers Quote
mk2vr6 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 but VW never slung the 2.3 into a Sharan so the shocks wont be to required spec for the vehicle! Quote
seatkid Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 All rear shocks will be the same I think. Quote
mk2vr6 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 well considering that if you hit the parts list for the 96/7 Sharan there are thirty different coil springs listed for the rear end and four shockers! all depending on vehicle spec? rear heater, dual ac, number of child seats..... so the Sharan rear shocks may not suit the 2.3? seatkid Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 (edited) A quick scan of the Sachs Catalogue confirms all the rear shocks are the same. Edited October 9, 2007 by seatkid Quote
mk2vr6 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 so sachs use the same rear shockers for the complete Sharan range? mmm dont suppose theres much difference between the 1.8t and the 2.8 synchro models weight wise? Quote
seatkid Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 so sachs use the same rear shockers for the complete Sharan range?Yes. Sachs/Boge are OEM. I think you'll find the same story at your Ford dealer. Quote
