I Know It's Not A Galaxy But I Need A Little Help Please

Hi all i bought a renault megane scenic today as a project to do up and move on.

 

Now the problem i have on the MOT failure slip it mentions the brake limit valve can anyone shed some light on what it is and what it does

its a valve fitted to the rear subframe that reduces the pressure to the rear brakes as the weight comes off the rear wheels during braking (nose down tail up).

 

More than likely needing replaceing, try a motor factors not renault as it will be a lot more expensive.

 

did it fail due to corrosion or leaking?

it didnt say just has a question mark next to it.... the guy says that the garage says if it breaks it's gonna need replacing so replace would be the option there then!

 

Is it more commonly known as a load sensor valve?

Yep, more or less the same thing.

 

The car will need to be up in the air as it will be in the middle,and the brakes will need to be bled after.You may find that the pipes may be corroded or seized.
