Hi, have been having problems with power, changed maf no change car went in for diagnostics and returned with the following:

 

P1557 Turbo pressure control limit exceeding, and is thefore putting car into limp home mode

 

has anyone got any further suggestions

have just searched the other area and found some other postings about this problem which refer to the "TMAP sensor" can someone explain where this is and what it does please

Have a look at this post eddy and I'm sure it's not the TMAP sensor that is causing your problem

The TMAP sensor is basically there to measure the temperature and pressure within the inlet manifold ...a second MAF if you like. With an overboost fault code it is more than likely the VNT mechanism, which controls the pitch angle of the turbo vanes, is sticking. Other areas to check are the pipes to and from the Turbo / Boost Control solenoid (N75) and the vacuum pipe to the VNT diaphragm
