Guidance Needed Am I Planning The Right Thing?

Hi all,

 

We have just bougt a 2003 Galaxy Ghia 1.9Tdi, but it only has one remote fob key, we have no other keys for it at all. The place we bought it from is asking the previous owners if they have any more keys but I do not hold out any hope.

 

I did not think that it would be too much of a problem, but how wrong could I be!! I went to Fords today and they want

look in the yellow pages for a lock smith that does car keys,they can cut and program keys for a lot less that ford

and lets us know,I can't recall any body reporting here that they've found someone to program the mk2 pats and it would be useful to know

looks ok to me but they will probably charge you

timpsons will cut the key for about 7 quid,you can then(reprogram the remote)yourself for unlocking and locking but as said above the pats programing will cost you at the dealers.

seems like youve got it sussed about buying a remote key with chip(20 quid) from fleabay thats wot i done and a blank only cost me a tenner,just waiting to get mine done at some point.
